Well , go at the range after the lunch to find my gun ammo.

I know ruger are not best tiny group shooter but im a bit dissapointed by some results.

Ok nothing serious here i had no " real bench " only a small table and some wood block to level my gun.

Heres my outfit;

remington thunderbolt ... impressive !!!!

So...my ruger is my hunting and plinking rifle ... and im overall sastisfy.

Want to check for a bolt action for more serious range shooting without changing all the parts on it.

I have an eye on the savage mark ii TR .

Anyone have one or have any suggestion ??!!

Thanx

To me thats still pretty good groups with value ammo (the Federal 525rd pack). Its 50yards away...your groupings with the Federal, both CCI and thunderbolt are still accurate enough to kill the small game you'd be hunting with a .22LR....and groups tight enough that if you ever needed kill some 2 legged game at 50 yards you can still make a head shot:p. You could spend more money on a nicer barrel and better (read more $$$) ammo that will give you .5" better groupings OR you can not and keep a .22LR semi gun what it is...a fun gun thats inexpensive and CHEAP to shoot.
Nice Tapco stock btw :)

this is my TR and i love

Houuuaaaaa .... dream of it tonight !!!
Where did you get it ??? Saw one on cabelas for 419 ... sooo ###xyyy!!!!

Yes i know theres nothing to be proud of these groups ... but im curious to do the same test with a bench rest or almost a sandbag .
For this test , had my vertical grip on a wood block and level the back with my shoulder , that was nothing serious.

I have a problem with ammo cause i live far away up north and there is no place to buy some(higher grade) Even when i go south ...around my hometown... no special shop only cantire and wal mart (never see lapua or eley there)

Will keep my ruger like this ... next upgrade will be a new rifle .

If you want good accuracy with a 10/22,spend your money on a good barrel, instead of on the tactical style stock. With a good barrel and stock, and some trigger work,I have gotten moa with my 10/22 rifles.

My advise is wait until you get a proper rest or at least front and rear bags and then try again. Doing ammo tests without a proper rest setup is pretty damn hard.

MKII TR wise... I have one topped with a Bushnell Elite 4200 8-32x40 and I just love the thing. Using CCI Blazer @ $2.99 a box it'll shot 5 shot groups of .250'' @ 25 yards and .500'' @ 50 yards using just a front bag. I haven't spent much time past 50 yards yet but the best 5 shot group I've done @ 100 yards is 1.375'' with a front and rear bag (ammo was American Eagle).

Reliability wise, its been fantastic. Not a single flaw or issue of any kind. It has feed, fired and ejected everything from Win Wildcat, Win SuperX, Fed Champion, Fed AE, CCI Blazer, CCI Stingers, CCI Shorts and Rem Thunderbolts etc.. etc... Accuracy wise it just loves the Blazer!

Lastly, bought mine from Ellwood Epps and the service was amazing and their price was lower then anywhere else in Canada that I contacted ($411.xx) with everywhere else coming in between $489.xx - $519.xx.

All results using cheap rings and scope are questionable.

That was exactly what i was thinking.

We spend the day of sunday at shooting range and the result were pretty the same ( a bit better , had a front sandbag)but again nothing awesome.

Made a 4 inch group at 100 yards (cci stinger 10 shot)

And thanx Jefro for your review of the Savage TR you tease me more ;)

Look again for a good bolt action and found the CZ 452 target/varmint and the 453 target/varmint.Did they worth the extra $$$ over a savage TR.
Whatever the next one is , it we probably be matched with a millett big zoom.

Let me kow what youre thinking guys!!

give Eley Target (yellow box) a try. My stock 10/22 just makes the hole bigger with this ammo at 50 yrds. same price as CCI stinger.....
