So I got a ruger 10/22 with the archangel G36 stock off the EE earlier in the week. I took it apart cleaned it and lubed it up.
I took it out and every 3 or 4 rounds the brass wasn't ejecting properly and getting caught in the action.
I took the gun home and did another once over and removed some excess grease as it seemed to be probably a bit excessive.
I took the gun back out and I cycled a bit better but it was still happening 2 or 3 times per mag(25rounds).
I have no idea why this is happening

I can add more pictures if it will help just let me know what you want.
Thanks any help is appreciated

I was having that issue, I changed out my extracter FRiday , and it fixed that issue.

Your mainspring may be worn or defective. Order a Wolff Spring kit for your 1022. It will increase your lock time and accuracy. I use Wolff kits on all my firearms... Colt 1911A1, Ruger No.1, Ruger 1022, etc. Very pleased with the results. http://www.gunsprings.com/

Also a good thorough cleaning may be in order. Do not over lubricate upon reassembly either! Use good quality gun oil or spray silicon!

I own several Ruger 1022's and I don't ever recall a problem with ammo... it ate everything! (Not the case with other semis which can be picky).

Good Luck and tell us when you figure it out and what it was?

I had the same issue with my Ch22 receiver and hc3r/BC mags. However with the stock mag and the bx25x2 mags the gun is flawless.
I having stovepipe ,ftf, and fte with BC steel lip mags , Then I tryed BC plastic lip mags, worked flawlessly , except for winchester dyna point ammo. Then I changed extracter , even the Win dyna points work at about 95% now. To me , it appears to be , first , mag issues, second, ammo issues, third extracter. That's how it is with my rifle. Using the ruger 10 rnd everything worked perfect. Why not change the extracter anyway , it can't hurt it cost $15 and it's fun to do and easy,:)

Ok thanks for the info guys. I will replace the extractor, and I think I will do the main spring as also mentioned is there any other upgrades that are no brainers that I should do?

Bolt hold open job, though it's not needed, it is much more enjoyable when using your bolt release. It's easy, and free. I used a small file and needle nose pliers,

I can't get through an entire magazine without 3 or 4 stovepipes or the casing getting stuck in the upper corner

also double feeds, multiple shots from one trigger pull, firing out of battery, casings blowing up, bent bullets, shaved lead.......magazine blowing out of the gun. it's dangerous to shoot

it's still at Location Snap Shots for repair. they've had it for 10 days now and haven't even looked at it. I'm hoping to get it back before Christmas of next year

I wrote a letter to Ruger stating how unhappy I am with this POS I bought.....my friend on the other hand has a vintage 10/22 that is totally problem free, feeds and ejects perfect. they don't make them like they used to

I want Ruger to keep the POS I bought and replace it with a new one or give me a total refund plus shipping costs to send to Quebec which was $65

I already wasted so much money trying to get it to work

In my experience both 10/22 s I have owned stovepipe for the first thousand rounds it goes away on e it breaks in.
I recently had a Kidd extractor installed from dlask no stove pipe ing but I am getting failure to feed about 5 per steel lip mag?
No soulutions as of yet?

I have a 10/22 that was made in 1991. Over the last few years it went from
having the occasional stovepipe to a stovepipe every 8 or 10 rounds a real pain in the butt.
I contacted Bits Of Peices in Delta to purchase an extractor.
The person who answered the phone said I should just take the extractor out and sharpen it.
I took the rifle apart and removed the extractor and sharpened it on a fine diamond file.
I put the rifle back together and went to the range with it.
I put over 200 rounds through it and had 2 stovepipes. A big improvement.

I don't have a 10/22 but I have 2 semis. It might be the way you are shouldering it. I found that if I'm "loose" with the rifles I have issues. If I hold them tight the issues go away. Sorry if this is obvious.
