the bolt on 10/22 has a dent/ burr on the bolt face by the firing pin. should i file off or leave it? the gun shoots fine but has extraction issues.

What is the extraction problem.does it not pull the spent case out of the chamber.or is it stovepiping the spent case.if its not pulling the spent case out of the chamber I would replace the extractor.if its stovepiping this can be caused by several things.bent guide rod,a heavy guiderod spring, the bolt draging on the receiver as it moves rearward and sometimes a bad extractor.if its a rifle with the powder coat painted receiver look to see if the bolt is draging .this was the problem I had with mine I polished all the paint off the inside or the receiver and this eliminated the stovepiping problem.hope this is of some help.

sometimes the bullet does not get all the way out of the breach before the bolt slides forward and it jams sideways. i'm going to try filing it off and if that does not work then new extractor it is.

thanks for the interest
