Hey all, been reading this site for a while, never had anything to ask, but I do now. I would like to get this Butler Creek folding stock for a Ruger 10/22 -

http://triplew.cabelas.com/prod-1/0031476227292a.shtml (not sure the rule on linking to sites that shouldn't really matter if they know where it comes from, so I'll play it safe and remove the "www")

I haven't been able to find it on any websites in Canada, and the guy at Le Baron pointed me towards a non-folding, non-pistol grip stock when I asked for the Butler Creek pistol grip folding stock (go figure). What's the word? Anywhere I can get one?

Also, I was interested in maybe getting one of the Compact Ruger 10/22's to go with this folding stock. Would this have any negative effect on the OAL rules with the stock folded?. Not being extremely well versed in the muddle that is our firearms laws I thought some of the more educated people on the subject could let me know?

Thanks everyone, this is a great site.

Good question. The stock IS available in Canada. I know Epps has a few....the question lies in the compact model. The OAL would have to stay at 66 cm......how long is a standard 10/22 in one of these stocks? Take that measurement and subtract the bbl length difference and see if it is over the min length.

With my 10/22 having a standard barrel it came to around 27 inches long folded so a shorter barrel would put it too short and prohib.Really nice to pack around thou.

Perfect, thanks for the quick response guys. Looks like I'll stick with the standard 10/22 model then.

Thanks again.
