value of....?

Friend of mine has a really neat Ruger 10/22 carbine all marked up with 1867-1967 Confederation stamps as well as a gold-coloured buttstock-insert medallion. Even the magazine floorplate has a maple leaf on it, I recall.

He bought it 'down there' a couple of years back in a local gun-store after the owner discounted it to $75 - he couldn't pass it up.

The gun is absolutely like new, in fact, I was prolly the first person to shoot it.

Any ideas as to the current value would be much appreciated.

TIA

Tac..
I have some good news and some bad news...

Only 4430 Canadian Centennial Ruger 10/22's were produced in 1967.
They came in a checkered finger groove walnut stock, with engraved receiver and a commemorative medallion in the butt stock.
Current value NIB = approx. $550 to $650 CAD

Now the bad news...

By you shooting it, you just devalued it from NIB (new in box) to EC (excellent condition).

Knock $150 to $200 off the NIB price. :(

Post some pics when you can.

Thanks, Mr O - the owner is not in the least interested in selling it, and would rather it went to a good and appreciative home - mine, fer'instance.

Sadly, that's not possible, as he lives in Oregon, and I live, for the most part, in the UK.

So the pair of us will just enjoy it, and keep it in good condition.

Shooting it was HIS idea, anyhow, and I just hate to go against my host's wishes...

Not NIB but mine and a keeper nonetheless. Bought this a couple of years ago from a member here. At the time it was a steal.
