Ruger 10/22 Hammer Change

I recently purchased a Volquartsen hammer and have installed it into my 10/22. What I was wondering was if/how you guys changed the hammer spring with or whatever it is called. I noticed that the Volquartsen spring is a lot more stiffer and longer, how do you get the old spring off and how do I get the new one on?

don't bother changing it to the VQ one.....way too stiff, and it will make your trigger pull heavier.

I too just changed out hammers and left the factory spring in place.
