I have a ruger 1022 with a flask 12" barrel, arch angel kit, extracted, hammer, charging handle and auto bolt release done to it. I took it to the range today and it shot great until around the 50th round it started to strike light ad I had nothing but failure to fires for a half hour and decided to pack it in.

The only add ons which I made from my first range visit where it shot great is the auto bolt release and tactical innovations super charging handle.

Any ideas?

Assuming these parts weren't just installed before this trip and you are using ammo you usually have good experience with when is the last time you really cleaned the gun?

I had mine start giving light strikes after about 2000 rounds of never cleaning the bolt/firing pin channel.

Clean the bolt, firing pin, and firing pin channel thoroughly after fully disassembling it.

Worst case you will get a closeup and be able to tell if anything has gone wrong with the firing pin.

Might be a problem with the firing pin, which is an easy fix.

I recently had a similar problem.....after a through cleaning it was no better. I got a new firing pin from a guy close by and that seems to have eliminated the problem....wTc

Is the clip on the hammer strut on the right way? It does matter, if memory serves me, up is correct.

Have the V-block bolts worked loose?

Check the firing pin protrusion and vertical play.

Another thing that can help is an extra power hammer spring from Wolff. I have a couple 10/22s with VQ hammers and mostly stock parts and the extra power spring helps cut down on failures to fire. You can order Wolff tune up kits from brownells.

Check the v-block screws first. Sometimes they work themselves loose after a barrel change. A little blue locktite isn't a bad thing. Look at the firing pin. I noticed mine had burrs on the end when I had the same problem. I took it apart and lightly filed away the burrs and it seems to work well. Just don't file too much or you risk piercing the case. An aftermarket bolt with proper headspace would probably help too but it's a pricey fix. I eventually went that route.
