Tried out my new 10/22 target model today, laminate stock with factory bull barrel and found that the magazine would simply fall out, while shooting, every 20-30 rounds, any thoughts?
I have this happen every so often. Somehow I end up with just the right amount of pressure on the mag release and after I shoot and move my hand, the mag falls out.
It is the factory magazine. I had the gun resting on the window frame of my truck for stability as I was sighting in a scope. The mag release lever has to be pulled forward to release so I can't see how I would have accidentally been pushing it. There is some front to back movement of the magazine.
There was another member here having the same issue as you are but I believe he was using aftermarket mags. There is a thread about it. If you search a bit it should pop up. I didn't follow the thread but there may have been some useful posts for yourself.
It was the mag that came with the rifle, can't see that being the problem unless it got switched at the store. The seller is a sponsor here so I will see if they get back to me regarding warranty, has been 2 days now since I emailed them.
Your mag plunger is catching inside your trigger housing when you go to release a mag and then not fully returning to hold the next one in properly.
Either give the plunger a SMALL shot of light oil on the outer ring and work it for a bit or remove the plunger all together and lightly sand the outer ring of the plunger crevice in the housing with some very fine sandpaper.
