Hi there,

I was removing the front sight on my Ruger 10/22 and while pounding on the front sight with a punch and hammer I loosened one of the pins and lost it. So now I am trying to order a replacement pin for the Magazine Latch and Ejector Cross Pin.

I located the exact part I need on the Sturm, Ruger website but unfortunately they will not ship this part to Canada.

The manufacturer Part # is: B-35 .

Does anyone know of any Canadian retailers that carry these parts? Or any US retailers that will ship to Canada?

Here is a link to the exact part I need:

I already sent a message to Jerry from Mystic Precision and hopefully he can help me out but I figured I would try asking here as well.

Thanks!

It's a pin.

Don't get too tied in knots over it needing to be a Ruger part numbered pin.

Measure the other one, go to the hardware store and get a drill bit that size and grind off the drill end, save the shank. Now you gots pin. :)

If you really want to spend a buck, look at KBC Tools site for drill blanks or reamer blanks in the diameter you need. Postage is gonna cost more than the parts.

Brownells has every 10/22 part you will need. Excellent service and ship to Canada.

I purchased one order with all my 10/22 spares together, pins, springs, detents, bushings etc., and have never looked back.

I keep them in the original packing to ease identification and they fit inside a small plastic tackle box from Walmart along with other spares that I have removed during upgrades over the years (recoil spring/guide rod, charging handle, firing pins, extractors, mag catches, hold open catches, sights, recoil buffers and so on). With a couple of allen keys and small punch thrown in.

I make my own pins.
If you only need 1 pin just sacrifice a drill bit end (as mentioned) and cut with a dremel tool to length.
McMaster Carr sells drill rod in 3' lengths if needing/making bulk.
Good luck!

You gotta stop cleaning your rifle while hanging over the side of the boat, or whatever you are doing that makes you need all those parts.

I've had mine for almost 30 years, and have not needed any parts other than one pin, which I made.

Money wasted, IMO, unless you are retailing the parts off to make a buck.

Maybee excessive, but its sure nice to be prepared! I think this is smart, he will have no down time when that time comes that something does break.. and he will be that guy that always saves everybody elses butts.

I also have many spare parts on hand for important guns. Probably not necessary but it makes me feel good. For my two 10/22s the only thing I've ever had cause to replace was the recoil assembly and hammer spring. I'm a fan of the Wolff extra power hammer spring.

There are people who literally buy several 10/22 recievers just for custom builds, with this he can complete the actions of several rifles and assemble with the parts he chooses. Just check out Wham-o's 10/22 arsenal!
