So I got this little kit in the mail already prepped and ready to drop in the 10/22 into, took a little bit but I got it all together finally. Sorry for the dirty carpet, I know, it needs to be cleaned... here she is:

So, what do you all think?

I like it.. but Id prefer a thicker barrel without a sight on it... Heavy fluted GM would look great...

other then that.. great job

A member here, Garmack. Barrel is the stock barrel, no plans on changing yet, it's just a fun plinking gun so I'm not really motivated to spend much money on it...except for the cool looking conversion kit of course.

Nice conversion. I was thinking about the G36 Conversion for a "fun" .22 plinker.
I ended up buying the real SL8-4 yesterday. Maybe when the smoke clears and my bank account is back to normal I'll do the G36 conversion.
Anyone know where to get the G36 Airsoft rifle for the conversion?

Yeah, don't have the money for a real one, you could get a conversion for the SL8, but for the 10/22...well, theres a couple websites that detail information for all sorts of rimfire conversions, check airsoft canada for links to the rifles.

Where does the mag go? That big black box in front of the trigger seems like it's hiding the mag access/release...

Other than that, it looks really nice. I agree that a target barrel with no front sight would look wicked though!

The safety also seems to be partially covered. Can you operate it correctly with this mod (as well as the mag release, mentioned above)?

Sorry for not answering earlier, forgot to check back to this thread. The mag release and safety and bolt catch and all that function. The bolt catch is a bit of a pain to operate, but thats about it. The forend was really loose, as it just slipped on. There was a hole for some sort of pin or bolt but none came with it (at the forward mount for the rail, just below the screw is the hole I'm talking about). I cut a small piece of wooden dowel, sanded it down to fit, and its rock solid now. I just need to paint the dowel black and chop it down slightly to make it nice and flush. As for a scope, I'm planning on it right now, gonna take off the rear sight as it blocks the rings and scope I currently have. I'll report back with word on whether it works or not. My other idea was a small holosight of some sort. Would also be much lighter, and alleviate my concerns about how well the plastic will hold a proper scope.

I haven't tried the scope yet, but I tried the irons last night with my brother in my backyard. Only fired like 10 rounds, as I got called off by the girlfriend. My brother fired one shot to see how far off the sights were, not that bad actually, and put three into a space smaller than a quarter at fifteen meters from the standing. Bear in mind my brother has never shot a gun in his life. I banged off a few rounds pretty quick, it shoots a bit to the right of where you're aiming. I can't say the sights actually work well yet, as I need to put a decent number of proper ammo through it (for last night we used remington Ceebees, turns it into a straight pull bolt action, but I don't want to disturb my neighbours who are nearby). If I get the chance, I might hit up the range this weekend, and I'll do a proper range report then.
