Ruger 10/22 target trigger suggestion/advice

Hey y'all.
I need an opinion from the 10/22 experts here.
I'm a smallbore target shooter but my kids wanted a 10/22.
I picked up a used 10/22 Target model and threw my Hawke smallbore target scope on it.
First time out with a decent bipod I can put close to 10 shots within an inch at 100 yards.
My problem is that I hate the feel of the trigger.
Not to sound like a d!ck, but I'm used to shooting an Anschutz sported or match rifle.
I have not shot any other smallbore rifles and don't know what to compare triggers to.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a crisper lighter trigger for this 10/22.
Some of the info I have read leads me to believe that the 10/22 Target has an "upgraded" trigger already.
Any info/suggestions/advice you have would be great (other than the usual suggestion to sell the 10/22 and buy a 597 or a CZ).

Volquartsen target hammer goes a long way. But then so does 15mins and a dremel. Brimstone out of the USA can tune it right up. Honestly there's so many options out there but I find it most satisfying to reshape and polish the factory hammer and sear until you have a trigger you love. It really isn't that complicated.
 
My take on Ruger 10/22 triggers after spending my hard earned money
Ruger trigger - crap ( 3 different rifles to compare)
Timney with extended mag release - pleasantly happy
Kidd 2 stage - fantastic but at a very steep price ( 8oz-8oz)
The Kidd gets the most use
 
If your Ruger 10/22 is shooting under 1" @ 100 yards...I think you need to buy a lottery ticket, not a new trigger. :)

I have a Timney and it is really nice! Although when I build my next 10/22 it will be a Kidd 2 stage! I tried once before and I almost cried it was so good.
 
Having both I can attest to the fact that the Kidd Single Stage being a great trigger while the Kidd 2 Stage is probably the ultimate trigger for a 10/22.
 
I have a Kidd single stage trigger and absolutely love it. No creep, very crisp. It goes down to around 1.5lbs so not quite bench rest pull weight. But that's what the Kidd 2ed stage trigger is for.
 
ive got the stock ones.
i got the Ruger BX Trigger.
ive got a Brimstone Top Tier.
got a VQ.
got a Timney.
and got a Kidd 2 Stage.

from what ive learned is you get what you pay for with 10/22 triggers.
kidd stage 2 is a dream but it costs more then a 10/22 does.
a Timney or a Brimstone i think you will be happy with, but go kidd if you want the best one you can get,
 
Kidd 2 stage is amazing. I like 2 stage triggers so I'm I bit biased.

Kidd single stage kit is very good as well for much less cost. Easy to install.
 
I've had a couple of Clark triggers in 10-22s and can't complain - they're $75US at Brownells. They're not Kidd triggers but they're a lot better than un-treated factory.
