RUGER 10/22 Volquartsen extractor

I too am curious about purchasing one of these. What is the point? So far I've put about 500 rounds through my new 10/22 and haven't had a single hiccup, other than a couple bad rounds. This is with 4 different brands of ammo to. What benefit am I getting from this upgrade? It is a target model that is really just for bench shooting if that matters.

Sounds like your one of the lucky ones. I average about 3 FTE's from a 10 round clip. This is why there is such a large market for ejectors.

10/22 Extractor?

I have just acquired a 1988 pristine carbine. Yesterday I fired it for the first time, and it does not like Win Super X but not too bad with Win Wildcat. must have fired 200 rounds, no extraction problems. So why the V extractor?

Off the bench rest, I put 10 shots of Wildcats into a six inch circle at 100 yds, altho my windage was off 6" to the left. I drifted the front sight left today.

I can see the need to modify the bolt release and the trigger is crappy, but the extractor?

Really? I've only had about 3 FTE's since I got my 10/22 (I've put about 1500-2000 rounds through it).

I shot about a brick of Winchester Xpert HP through it at TSC a few weeks ago and didn't have a single failure.

If you're okay clearing stovepipes, excellent........but if you are hesitant passing a potential stovepiper to a newbie shooter, then either (a) use excellent/tried-and-tested ammo regularly, or (b) get the VQ extractor....:yingyang:

My 10/22 target was constantly stovepiping(2-3times per mag)... and every type of Ammo I could get my hands on. SO, I got a VQ extractor, bolt release, bolt buffer and extended mag release and installed them in 1/2 an hour.

GUESS WHAT??>>>> No More FTE's.... NONE-ZERO-NADA.

It does get cleaned after I hit the range though, up to 300 rounds of bulk pack ammo at a sitting.

If your rifle has FTE's, the VQ extractor is the solution.
