My bad - I understood it was.

you would assume it would, i only know cause my coworker bought one and it has the weirdest problem that is apparently common with this version of the 10/22. when you take the action either out the the stock or put it in, the safety rubs on the inside of the stock and rotates 180 and pops out of the trigger group.

Yes this is a common problem on these 10/22's with the tight synthetic stock. The safety rotates and either pops out or stops working so the rifle cannot be fired.

It is a fairly simple fix, just rotate the safety until it clicks back into the slot and check for safe operation. I have never seen this on a 10/22 until these new cheaper synthetic stock models came out.

The barrels are not threaded as stated earlier in this thread. Some Ruger 10/22 models have a threaded muzzle end, these do not....:)
