ruger 10/22

today i went to the gunshop to check out a ruger 10/22
i got to handle the composite stock and wood stock regular versions.

i will need help deciding which one to buy. they are both offered for the same price
which one would you recommend and why?

i would also like to ask what are my options for adding a scope while still being able to use the open sights?

I have both and prefer the wood stock only because I'm old school.
Better yet...buy both. You will eventually.

Adding a scope is do-able, as long as you use high see through rings that will allow you to view your iron sights.

the plastic stock felt "cheap" as if it was about to break'
that's why i decided to ask
when you tap on it it kind of feels empty

I didnt like the feel of the synthetic stock either. I went with the laminated wood one. I think the laminated ones are slightly more expensive though, I might be wrong though. But I also think the laminated ones look the best and are pretty durable.
