Ruger 10/22

apparently (at least on Vancouver Island) that the Ruger 10/22 isn't available here. I checked 3 gun shops, and they're extreme back ordered..

So being I cna't get one (new). What would you choose for a Rimfire 22 in its place? I'm looking at a Mossberg or ???? Suggestions??

if you're looking for a semi auto I have heard from many sources that the Marlin ones perform really well. If you're thinking about switching to a bolt I would look into Savage as you get a lot of features for what you pay.

I have a ruger 1022 deluxe and the stock barrel is garbage, I bought a GM SS 18" one and love it, but for a good semi, Get a marlin 60 if the 1022 isn't available.

DON'T BUY ONE ON THE EE unless your desperate. People are taking advantage of the shortage and asking Waaayyy to much!

I actually prefer a Remington 597 over a 10/22. Not sure how good the latest ones from Remington are though.

Just picked up a new 10 22 from a dealer here. Fast and great service.

If you're looking for one to hold you over, check out the marlin 795 or 60. I just picked up a new 795 for 150 and it's great. I have 4 different 1022s right now and there is still a place here for the marlin.

I walked into Island Outfitters and bought a stainless steel carbine ruger 10/22 about a month ago, I know they had a lot of takedown models at that time aswell.
That being said I still have not broken it in as I prefer my CZ 455

Marlin 60 is a better gun than a 10/22. IMO. (I own both.) Really can't beat their value and unlike the lever marlins, I don't see the drop in QC. They still say made in KY like the older ones.

Thanks for the feedback.. I'll look at the Marlin. I do have lots of time to keep my options opne
