HI guys I have a 10 22 with an 8 inch barrel overall length is 26.5 so it is non restricted just wondering if there is a kit or some sort of conversion to make it a take down version

Here is a pic of my rifle

I've got the same barrel on mine. Can't really turn it into a take down just like that. I doubt they'll start making them takedown versions with 8" barrels

but could you buy a Take down RIFLE and pick up a after market take down pistol barrel stock thus giving you the butt stock on a short barrel hybrid..... hmmmmmm?

that way you would be unrestricted still and have a shorter barrel.
of course that would be a pain to flesh out and buy but do-able.

Those little 8" dlask barrels are louder than any 22 I've ever shot besides a pistol. I like mine it's super quick pointing and actually quite accurate too. Velocity seems to be hardly any different than a full length barrel

OP , can you tell me more about your gun . That's exactly what i want .

I have a wooden ruger 1022 stock I chopped off the end and re rounded it then I re finished the wood added sling mounts and sling. stainless stock ruger receiver, stock charging handle, with stock bolt, trigger pack has a over travel screw put in and I am running holosun reddot the rail is from dlask arms and the 8 inch barrel is also from dlask arms overall length is 26.5 inch :)

Thanks OP . I looked on Dlasks site and saw no barrels less than 12.5" so is yours a special order ?

It is doable but you have a couple issues.

1. Factory Ruger take down is based on a different system the the ones previous. The part on the receiver that the V-block bolts to has been machined down flat and the dedicated part attached.

2. The Factory barrel has a skinny long interface to slide into the new mount.

Given that design you would have to buy the factory take down and use that receiver and have your barrel machined down to match the factory mount and attach the mating hardware to the barrel.

There are two other options.

1. Find the old Buttler Creek take down stock and then all your parts would drop right in depending on whether you found the ultra rare HB or the standard. I cant remember if there is room to open up the standard.
2. Buy or build the super simple system used in the Ramline takedown. You cant use the ramline stock because it is a folder (and a piece of crap) and would make it restricted. It is fairly simple and you can duplicate it in your home shop with hand tools. Down side is it's slower to take apart.

Sorry I cant post pictures of it all I still haven't had the opportunity to pay for my membership.

Joe makes what he thinks are gonna sell.
so he may go a while making 8's and 12's and 16's and you wont see any 10's or 18's for a long time.
when i wanted a 18.5 bull i called him and asked him and when he did his next run he cut me one at the length i wanted (i think he did a couple cause i saw them on his website after)

so ya, your best bet is to call him and ask if he has any laying around not listed and if not if he can make ya one next time he runs a batch of barrels through.

on a related note if your gonna call him and ask about 10" barrels let me know via PM or post here what he said, im actually getting ready to start a winter build and i would prefer a 10" bull over a 12.5"
