Wanting to buy a 1022 and leave it stock for now .
One day I will likely want to put some kind of kit on it .
Im just wondering , witch model of 1122 is best for this .
there are so many.
(sporter,carbine,rifle,compact,target.)

have a look at youtube.com/watch?v=GuACbcjO7Ow

You need an idea as to what you may want in the future.

So many different kits on the market, so many different barrel lengths, barrel thickness, mods to be had. Heck, you can start with a spiffy action made by another manufacturer, or maybe a 22mag, 17hmr version.

If you are going to modify it just go for the cheapest model, the carbine, in either wood or synthetic stock. Add about 20$ if you like stainless. Then go crazy from there... The target model is about 200$ more and I'd rather get a custom barrel for less then that price.

I haven't seen a takedown model first hand but I can't imagine that there are more options for it versus the carbine model. Trigger groups must be the same on both so no advantage there for the take down model. Aftermarket stocks for the take down must be rare. Barrels for the takedown must be extremely rare. I have read that takedown's are less accurate which is a negative for me. Add to that the fact that it is 100$ more and I'm not very convinced it is the best platform to start with.

I think I will probly just get the carbine .
I might like to put on the archangel at some point.
will it work with the carbine model.
