OH...MY...GAWD!!! This is exactly what this gun needed out of the box from Ruger. As a matter of fact I bought {from EE} and installed a Brownell's stainless front strap on my SR1911 and I love it! It holds so much better, but to have the frame actually cut would be a step up IMHO. Great job, How did you control the cut depth on a contoured surface?
 
Nice...I have tried several times to locate a checkering file in Canada to do a couple of guns as I struggle with the idea of paying $75 for what for me would be a one- or two-use item.

Consequently my 1911s typically get 3m grip tape on the front strap. One day I'll just bite the bullet and get the file, though.
