Hey Guys,

I am a Canadian living in the States, but one day I will have to go back to Canada, unless I win the lottery.

The trend here is .22 that look like ARs. Ruger has just come out with the 22-SR

according to the specs it has a 16.5 in barrel, but it is a rimfire, so is it legal to bring back to Canada?

"...unless I win the lottery..." You'll need that here too. No work up here unless you work for the government.
"...it is a rimfire..." That's what makes it ok. The barrel comes out of the factory at 16.5" and the OAL is long enough. The rifle hasn't been out long enough for any government idiot to notice it.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the feedback. Life is great down here. Don't believe the Fiberal Party. If you work you live well. Cheeers

Sorry, no. It is legal in Canada, but unable to export out of the US.

Keep in mind that email from Ruger does say "the US State Dept. will not approve export licenses for commercial sales in Canada" But I still don't know if you could just bring it over the line with you either.
