If kept clean how reliable is the ruger 44 mag tube fed version? Are there any tips from those that have them? Ammo?

Use heavier bullets and I've found Hornady/Remington brass cycle better than Winchester. Generally, factory ammo cycled better than reloads and stripping/cleaning at the start of each hunting season has resulted in great reliability. I use G96 as it coats well but doesn't gum up or become sludgy in cold weather.

I owned one for 5 years. Always used 240 grain in her. Never had a stoppage in all that time. Shot around 700 rounds in that time. Cleaning is the key. I wish I had not sold it. I have a feeling that if Ruger made them again they would sell thousands.

I never had any function issues with the 3 Ruger .44's that I owned. I always loaded them within factory OAL cartridge specs. to ensure function. Only reason I sold them off was that they all had the slow 1-38" twist barrels that made for poor accuracy with heavier bullets. Really nice little rifles to pack around for game stalking though.
