Ruger 77/22 Barrels

My friend are arguing over the availability of aftermarket barrels in Canada. He has a Ruger 77/22 and wants to put a bull barrel on it. We both know that there are plenty on the market but I have my doubts of them being regularly carried by Canadian distributors. Are such barrels widely available from certain places in Canada or do you have to go through the hassle of importing them from the US?

You could have a barrel made by Smith or Gaillard among several others, but might need either machining skills or gunsmithing to install it. It wouldn't hurt to talk to them - they're both pleasant guys and they both make very good barrels.

Go to the ER Shaw barrel website.
They have bull barrels for the Ruger 77/22.
There is a Canadian distributor in edmonton. Phone ER Shaw up and see who their distributor is.
You might have to do some digging around but you can usually find what you want in Canada.
 
Jake,you can order directly from GreenMountain also...I spoke to to the gal on the phone a few times,she said they ship up here all the time.
I would think that they would be fully aware of the export rules and such,but ya just never know....just passing on what I have been told.
 
Lilja down in the states stocks drop in barrels for these. Contact them and find out who their Canadian Distributor is. Alberta tactical or Prairie gun is but I'm not sure which. I got one in through them and it was quite reasonable.
 
I got my Lilja Barrel for my 10/22 through Shooters Trading Post in Ontario. Best price out of all the Canadian distributors and awsome service.
