Hey there

How come nobody ever talks about the ruger bolt action rimfires?

Ive never even seen them in the shops just in catalogues, From what i know they are a very nice looking rifle with a price rivaling many mid to upper scale rimfires.
To any one who has one what are they like in terms of accuracy, fit, feel, finnish etc, Why are they +600 when a 10/22 is -300, i never see them in the classifieds either, they are either keepers or no one buying them.
Worth it or not?

I dunno like i said i see very little about them, hope someone can enlighten me.

I always liked the look of them and finally found a good used one in stainless with the canoe paddle stock a couple of months ago. I love the fact that it feels and operates just like my center fire M77's. Not sure that it is as accurate as the price suggests that it should be though, still need to try some different types of ammo in it.

TACK DRIVER!!

I've had one for about 15 years with a cheap 4x tasco on it. Absolutely deadly on gophers. Can't stress that enough, if I miss with it it's my fault. Never had to touch it, basic cleaning is all. The price does seem a little much. When I got mine I traded a 10/22 in on it and had to pay a couple hundred difference. I'm glad I did it back then. I would have a hard time justifying a $600 gopher gun nowadays. However now that I've owned one I'll never be without one.

I have one aswell, good fit and finish, reliable, and accurate. The reason they are more than the 10/22 in my opinion is they have walnut not birch stocks, steel not aluminum recievers, come with rings, better fit and finish.

I have a 77/22 WMR with the stainless barrel/action and the laminated stock. The WMR is not always the easiest chambering to find a truly accurate rifle in, but this Ruger is some accurate. As a matter of fact, it puts my CZ 452 American 22WMR to shame. While I cannot speak for this rifle in 22LR, the magnum version I have is a winner! Regards, Eagleye.

We have one in our local shop $750 it is sweet and if I did not have four
.22`s I would get it and add it to the collection. The walnut stock is real nice and the SS bolt looks very classy. Cannot speak for its accuracy but I am sure it shoots great as all Rugers do.

i had one in 17hmr and sold it one of my biggest mistakes, the only problem i find is they arent cheap infact they cost almolst as much as a anchutz 64 sporter which is hard to stomach but the ruger 77 rimfire line are fine rifles

I considered one a few years back. I just found that the price was too high. Also accuracy seemed to be hit or miss from the reviews I read.

I have 3 of them and I would not sell any of them--one is the stainless synthetic and the other two are walnut--I do have a laminated target stock and heavy stainless barrel that I switch over to from time to time.

I have a 77/22 in .22lr and a 77/22 Hornet and they are both very accurate. I have no problems picking off gophers up to 75 yards with the 22 and out to 175 with the Hornet. Excellent little rifles, and very well built. Both mine are blued steel and wood stocks, and I just bought a 77 Ultralight in 270 beacuse I find the size and balance of these rifles to be perfect for me.

My only complaint with the stainless over synthetic stock is that they are horribly balanced. Even with a scope, there's no weight in the back end.
