I have a need for one of these. It would solve a problem for me - lots of .357 ammo, no damn good with a handgun.

I believe Ruger no longer produces these. Should I bother looking around for one, or is it one of those deals where they're either not worth having or them what's got 'em loves 'em and will charge accordingly?

Ruger is according to its website still producing the stainless 77/357 in black synthetic. They are definitely hard to find. I have a 77/44 and was thinking about adding the .357 but haven't seen one anywhere.

I have had the stainless 77/357 with the black synthetic stock for a few years now and it is a very nice shooter. 38spl or 357mag no issues. I bought a spare mag and put a 3x9x40 scope on it. Loves to explode tannerite.

The .357's show up occasionally and are pricy. I purchased one last fall off the EE and also found a factory walnut stock because I like the stainless in walnut and I find them easier to bed. As soon as the snow goes and we can use our outdoor range I will work up a load and sight it in with a ghost ring rear. Will use it for plinking and small game. I had a 44/77 for a while and decided it was too snappy for plinking. If I was going to hunt game with the rifle I would have kept it. Most of the guy x that I know that have the. 357/77's don't want to give dm up.

I've always wanted one of these handy looking little rifles, seem like they'd be a great camp gun. I think I'd stick with open sites to keep it as lite/quick as possible. Maybe one day I'll find one for a good price and snatch it up.
