Ruger 77/44 .44 Mag bolt-action rifle.

Why Not? has a point, but a lot of the appeal is matching to one's revolver, I like the concept.

I think matching the revolver would probably be the biggest reason and choosing a bolt over a semi, or lever for reliable feeding (over semi) and
strength of action (over lever); this is just my guess you understand. Personally I'd prefer a .358 Win (Duh), or a .444 Marlin, or a .450 Marlin.
But, to each there own, right.

I use mine for rural pest control. Size and weight of a rimfire with the hitting power of the .44 magnum. The detachable magazine means the rifle can be left out of the safe with the loaded magazine separate but nearby. I also have used .44 Special for pests up close. With the non-magnum ammo it's quieter and therefore less bothersome to the livestock and the neighbours.
