Ruger 77 Floor Plate

Any recommendations on refinishing one? I believe its aluminum (tang safety era rifle) and has some battle scars.

I have used a spray enamel and then baked it at 250 for 2 hrs, turns out really nice but not all that tough, unfortunately. Cerakote is one of the best coatings, but don't know anything about it myself...........

Like c-fbmi said, I think you are going to do best with a spray and bake finish like cerakote, gunkote, armacoat, teflon, or powder coat. Also unless you have the said product, it will be much cheaper to send it out to someone setup. I believe brownells sells replacements made of steel as another option.

Thanks guys - I'd like to have something a little more durable for sure. Probably be best to do the trigger guard as well so they look the same.

If you can find someone that does anodizing you can get it done for dirt cheap....
