Ruger American Gen II Ranch Rifle 5.56 NATO 16″ -- IN STOCK!!

irg had them a while back for 575 usd, about 815 Cad
They are an American gun store. You win some, lose some with their pricing. Add in international shipping, export paperwork, etc, etc. $200 is a pretty good deal comparative to US pricing which we never get. Taxes in mine was just shy of 1100 to Ontario.

its 1100 alone without taxes. PR had them a while back to for around the same price with tariffs applied so that is why i am so skeptical about whether these have tariffs or not. Either way its a bit too high for it.

Must be new to commerce and firearms pricing in Canada eh? Price can't be high when they haven't been able to be had in country regularly. Weve never seen gen 2 in Canada at Canadian retailers in a loooooooooooong time, not to mention the price gen 1 used still commands is about a grand.

I wouldn't say a loooooooooooong time. Irg has had batches in every while that go for under 900. The last time a Canadian retailer had them was prophet river which sold them for around 1.2k which was in late august/early sept with tariffs applied mind you. Unreasonable to be asking 1.1k for something that shouldnt have tariffs applied.

Indeed a looooooooooong time. Gen 1s were sold up till about christmas last year and gen 2 hasn't been stocked with distributors ever. IRG is bringing up stock from the US which makes it a gray market gun, so if you have warranty issues, it has to go back to them for it to be dealt with, as there is no "Canadian" warranty for it. You can argue its better or easier, but they weren't built with the intention of being exported as Canadian market guns. Both IRG and Prophet river have import/export permits for their shops, along with either a store or related business on the other side of the border. The ones that have been sold by Prophet river fall into the same territory and are brought from inventory in the US, and weren't ear marked for the Canadian Market... The current distributors for Ruger in Canada, have both said a month ago they have no ability to import these guns right now and ruger was making a "Canadian market version". No one has had the ability to walk into a store and buy one until pretty much right now with these and a couple other retailers with them. I am telling you as someone who has bought from IRG, they dont go for under $900, even without tarriffs. These were likely "wholesaled" by IRG or prophet river to a couple retailers and the margins are obviously going to be much different at that point.

Not unreasonable to ask $1100 for it, when to buy one from IRG in Ontario, is almost $1100 to your door. 1-200 bucks to buy it right now without waiting from a store that offers free shipping, isn't terrible, especially when you have almost no other options for Stanag fed rifles right now, which is the draw for this gun.

$1100 isn't horrible. I was lucky enough to snag one from IRG two weeks ago for $950 tax in, shipped to my door. They had some in Canada for $599 USD On their site. 😁

How are you finding it - Good accuracy? What mags does it like? Cheers
55gr 223 pmc is about 1moa almost touching or touching consistently., 55gr Winchester 5.56 is very similar, find that 62gr Lake city is sporadic, getting me closer to 1.5-2 moa. Pmags and duramags feed best. Crossmags will jam up if you dont hold the mag up or push it forward when cycling. I'm happy with mine. Muzzle brake is ####ing obnoxiously loud.

I've only used steel 10/20 mags in it so far. No problems.

So far I have tried 4 rounds through it.

- PMC 5.56, 55grn and 62grn green tips.
- Federal .223 in 55grn and 62grn.

Seems to like the 5.56 55grn best. Was getting about 1 inch groups. Good news since I have a ton of it 🙂

Ordered some PMC 223 55grn to try out.

Good news! Plentiful and affordable compared to other options.
Always prefer to feed a cheap appetite. Shame my wife wasn’t more like a Ruger Ranch 😆
