The other budget .223 I would consider is the Mossberg MVP. Takes a 10 round LAR mag. Not sure what they are equipped with from the factory for Canada though. Or on that note if they are available up here yet.
edit: yes they are up here, but because or AR mags they are pinned to 5, so LAR as mentioned, but Canadian prices are a bit high. All considered, the Ruger is probably better bang for the buck.
