Ruger American Predator

Was looking at them also, didn't dig the rotary mags. Went with a tikka and didn't look back. If your looking for a "budget" or "bang for your buck" Yote gun, check out savage package deals. They are essentially the same rifles, except savage has a optic for the same price.

Well I ordered 1 up in 308 just for good measures for dropping some critters at a distance. Back-ordered but went through with the order regardless. Just have to wait now, hopefully after the Christmas bills it will show up.

ive got one in .223 and i really like it.
im right in the middle of doing some work to it.
ive ordered up a tactical bolt knob for it and a bipod and just got in some new glass 6x18x50 and i need to go get some new rings for that scope, i was wanting to get a single point base like a DNZ but having trouble fleshing one out and also fleshing out the height needed so i may just revert back to normal rings for it for now.
also i ordered up a ruger butt pad for it as well.
kinda dressing the entire gun up at the moment.

im gonna see what its like once its all dressed then i might consider picking up a boyd stock for it.

my getting it was 2 fold.
i wanted to plink around with some distance shooting on the cheap and i wanted something i could reach out and pick off Coyotes with.

oh ya, and a compensator, i dont have one yet, ive been lurking around looking at different ones, most just aesthetics but aesthetics are a important too.

I did think about .223 but I have a 583 series stainless Mini 14 that shoots great so wanted something with more punch. Only things I have planned for it besides optics is a muzzle brake and an ArmaCoat / CeraKote paint job for the barrel / action. I use shooting sticks so I don't see a bipod until at least after tax season.

Quite a difference in price between the Ruger American and a Tikka and the Ruger and savage are NOT essentially the same rifle.

ive got a decked out mini 14 as well, the Predator is for the days i want to reach out instead of blazing away, haha!
also thought it would be fun for gophers and almost as cheap as using a 22.

my next choise would have been in 243.

im not sure how much fun the americans would be in a 308 or 3030 being such light guns seeing as they are synthetic stocks and hollow.

Load it out with 110gr Vmax and recoil is very mild.

Ruger rotary mags are quality pieces of kit. Have no fear.

I want one of these in .223, even though I dont really have a use for .223. I just like the gun a lot.
