Recently the good people at Dominion Outdoors had a 5 year anniversary sale. I was super excited when I saw they were blowing out some Ruger American Ranch 300 Blackout rifles, but pulled the trigger to late and they sold out. But through the luck of the internet gods I received a PM from Dominion Outdoors saying they had one left with my name on it! After some phenomenal customer service over the phone and internet and a short delivery time I had the rifle in my hands. I immediately ran some CLP down the bore and lubed the bolt, went to my local shop to pick up some Hornady V-Max 110GR, mounted my Vortex Crossfire 1-4x and went to the range. Without even zeroing, I was grouping just over 1moa at 100m. (sorry no targets atm). Out of 8 rounds I did have 3 FTF due to light primer strikes. Once I got home I field stripped the rifle and found some metal shards inside the bolt, some were still attached to hole the wasn't completely drilled through. (Not cool Ruger, where is your QC I ask). I also noticed the barrel was not free floating as they advertise, I tried removing the stock and re-seating it to see if that would work but no go. After several forum searches I have decided to just sand the stock out at bit.
I have made several upgrades to the rifle including a Glades Armory tactical bolt handle, an SJ Hardware Linear Comp. 7.62, a Harris Bi-pod, UTG rings and a Vortex Crossfire 3-9x50 scope.
When installing the new bolt handle I removed more shards from inside the bolt and I hope that removing these will cure my light primer strikes but they could also be from my choice in ammo.
All in all I am super stoked on this rifle, and really happy with the staff at Dominion Outdoors. I hope to get my CORE course and eventually use this as a deer gun!

Glades Armory Tactical Bolt handle
No sure which knob I like better yet
Might need a bit more sanding, But it's not rubbing the one side anymore.
The hole the Ruger didn't fully drill out causing the shards in my bolt.
