I’m excited that I’m ready to shoot this project. It’s a 6.5 Grendel wearing a Burris 2.75x IER in Burris Z medium rings and mounted on a Skinner Scout rail. I like that it has a built in A2 front sight post. If my trigger pull scale is accurate, it’s just under 6.5lbs. I’ve got a pile of Lapua brass and a selection of projectiles and powders to try. Love that set up. I was wondering when the Ruger 6.5 Grendel would show up. Is the mag pinned? A bolt action, I know, but i have heard they use an AR mag, so just curious.

I got mine from Prophet River. I just jammed a .223 10rd pistol mag in it for the photos. I have a handful of x39 mags that supposedly work.

Great Job mark k!
Looks uncluttered, nimble and functional...I dig it!
RAR's are a solid rifle at a decent price in both centerfire and rimfire as more folks seem to be discovering.

Using Lapua brass and Lapua 123gr. bullets my Ruger Grendel has proven to be very accurate. Best powder so far has proven to be IMR 8208 XBR

The sight picture is good. The front sight is at the front of the scope rail. It’s an A2 style post. I anticipate most of my shooting will be with the optic. I will however mount a NM front sight post to get a finer sight picture. I’ve yet to fire it, but I see a 7.62x39 in my future.
I neglected to mention that the base was installed by Casey at Tactical Ordnance. Done right the first time as usual!

Twins! Almost. My 6.5 Grendel scout turned out so well, that I wanted another in 7.62x39. I Cerakoted both in field drab and put a Timney trigger in the 6.5. When I had the trigger out, I slathered JB bore paste into the action and cycled the bolt about 500 times while watching The MeatEater. What a difference! So smooth now.
The Grendel shoots great. I’m shooting Hornady 123gr SST at about 2250fps into 1.25” groups. I’m going to try two other powders to hopefully boost velocities a bit. 6C8CA34D-468E-459F-B7A3-6F9A7194D82F.jpg
