Ruger American Ranch Scout

Where can you get those barrel mounted rails?

Or do you make them yourselves? Sounds pretty involved if so, you'd have to cut rails to length, make your own spacer, drill and tap your barrel, all while keeping it perfectly paralell to the bore...

The scope rail (with built in adjustable front sight post) is from Skinner sights. I had Casey at Tactical Ordnance install it for me.

Not much at all. I removed the factory rail and added a new one forward. The 2.75x Scout scope is light. The whole rig is 7.2lb.
I shot consistently in the 1.25-1.5” range last time out.

That's a great little set of carbines! That skinner rail is a wickedly simple way to mount a scout scope and get a reasonable set of irons for backup. The sight radius isn't super long - but in my books it still beats any set of buckhorn sights ever made!
