These are nice, but now i am looking at the Ruger precision 22lr.
I have one. Short threaded barrel (18 inches) It didn’t come with an extra cheek piece.The picatinny rail is shorter than I like so I bought the EGW rail. The action is very rough( sounds like a zipper being pulled) it took me 3 hours of sliding the bolt back and forth to get it slick(tried lubes etc.) one football game. My barrel was properly entered in the channel ,no extra stress. As for shooting -30 degree weather has quenched my desire to punch paper. The trigger blade is a little rough when pulled, total breaks at over 4 lbs. I will be pulling out the main trigger spring to reduce the pull. Finish and fit is nice

Zipper bolt seems to be pretty common with all the Ruger Americans, mediocre lathe work on the bolt I suspect. My American Ranch is the same way.
would a machinist be able to smooth out the zipper bolt?
I am considering adding a .22 rimfire bolt action to my collection and was looking at the CZ models, but a buddy said to also consider the ruger americans, then I saw the RPR in .22 coming out and have heard about a tikka tx1. so what I thought would be a simple decision has turned into one with a lot more research required ? lol
