started a thread on the super blackhawk. i got to thinking about the, i'm assuming, rare 44 special blackhawks. does anyone have one and an opinion? anybody seen any for sale anywhere?

I like mine, haven't shot it much.
Trigger pull was pretty bad.

If you're after a softer shooting big bore gun why not just go with .45Colt? Brass or even loaded ammo are a lot easier to find than for .44Spl.

I have a 4 5/8" flat top target Bisley in .44 spl. Had Rustywood Trading do a trigger job on it. It balances nicely and is deadly accurate--almost as accurate as my M-24 smith. It is now my only single action revolver and I don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon.

44Bore

just ordered one today. wondering if i should have ponied up the extra for the super blackhawk, buti i got the special for a pretty incredible price. gun was special ordered and the guy backed out on the deal. it was in their safe and not even advertised: it was forgotten until i called.

Nice

From Prophet? I know they had them listed a while back.

I load my 44 magnums to something like hot special loads. Very accurate once I found the sweet spot. More so than the 45colt tends to be for me.

I'm not sure that I'd buy a special. I get it that you can get a smaller framed gun than you would with a magnum. I just don't want yet another kind of ammo to reload.

But if it were a choice of no compromises I do believe I'd go your road rather than get back into a SBH

anyone know of any place that has ammo or components. i have some leftover stuff from years ago but need some new stuff too

just arrived, 4 5/8 model. hope it shoots as good as it looks/feels. would have preferred the 5.5 but picked this beauty up for a song. someone ordered it and walked away, sat around for who knows how long. called and they didn't even have it on the website, was in the safe in the back. never know sometimes i guess!
