I just picked up one a little while back. Haven't shot it yet but looking forward to using it this season. I thought Ruger didn't offer this model in the 260 anymore ?
I'll admit to being skeptical about the stubby barrel on my 358 Frontier when I bought it, but it is suprisingly accurate and very handy to use, carries well in the truck or on a quad, or just walking through the woods.
Sounds like a great, fast handling, accurate deer rig. I love carbines for deer, in many different calibers. You sir have a true shorty. I have loved the 77RL since I first saw it in the 80s and always wanted one in 257Roberts. I liked the little 1894 Wrangler I had in .32Spcial with a 16" barrel for handling, but I bet if mine had a large muzzle flash in early morning late afternoon, your 260 will in spades if you Handload with WW ball powders.
