Ruger Gold Label SXS

Yes sir, Ruger's site now shows a retail price of US$ 2,650. Rather close to the price that CSMC was asking for their 20 gauge RBL. Not so far off mid range Browning and Beretta U/O prices, either. Moot point if you can't find one to buy.

I almost bought one over a year ago then changed my mind and got another Beretta O/U instead.

Upon close inspection, the Ruger GL balance just did'nt feel right....too bbl heavy (personal impression only)..... plus the wood/metal finish quality (at least to me) didn't warrant spending over $2.5K.......now $3200? one might as well invest a bit more and get the Beretta Silverhawk.
 
The price increase wasn't unexpected. Ruger put a lot of money into this project and probably are a long way from breaking even on it if they ever get there.

A couple of guys locally shoot them. I've tried one and it was just okay but certainly not $3,200 worth.:rolleyes:

yes, the silverhawk would be a far better gun I would think, although I've never had the opportunity to handle one. I think they go for around 4500.

I handled (but didn't shoot) the GL at a gun show and I know what you mean, it didn't realy impress me the way I thought it would.
