I’ve got very nice potential deal lined up on a Ruger M77 Guide Gun. The only thing holding me back is a video I watched pointed out the rifle has no steel or aluminium recoil brace in the stock.

I’m only going for the 30-06 model and won’t be shooting hot rounds only factory recommend ammo. The guy in the video who had the gripe did say he used hot rounds with his being the .375 Ruger model (so it could be 100% user error)

I just plan to hunt wild boars and possibly some bucks.

Any fellow Ruger or gunnutz help me... am I just overthinking things? I’ve only read solid reviews of this rifle.
Would glass bedding it remedy any issues down the road?

Cheers

In my experience you should be just fine without any reinforcements in the stock until you get into the really big mags. My brother in law has a ruger guide gun in 30-06 and has had no problems at all with it for the 4 years he has shot and hunted with it. I had a boyds laminated stock on my ruger mk II in 338 win mag that I used for 10 years and never had a problem. Mind you, I did bed it eventually but only because I wanted to try it. Bedding the action never hurts if done properly.
