Ruger gunsite scout accuracy

So I bit the bullet and I bought a ruger gunsite off of a fellow member I knew it'd be a nice rifle but this blew my socks off! This was a group I got with my second time to the range and and first reloading attempt with this rifle! MONEY WELL SPENT;) this was a 5 shot group at 100 meters.

I just started back at school so for now it wears a world class tasco 3-9x40 and for ammo i've been hand loading 45gr of blc-2 with a 168gr SMK on top.
 
I have to agree, my Ruger shoots like that as well off the bench, I just can't understand why people keep attacking this rifle with how it performs and functions.

I just burned off 20 rnds of last years hunting ammo which was loaded with 150gr. Nosler AB's and a stout dose of Varget @2840fps into one ragged group of 1.5" @100yrds. with my Leupold scout scoped LH Scout. Dam fine performance for such a rig.
 
1.5" is one ragged hole? By modern standards a rifle should be able to put all it's rounds within an inch, anything more I wouldn't consider very good. From what I've read the Ruger Scouts don't reliably achieve this standard and likely why they get dragged over the coals on forums. They're really neat rifles, and I'd likely buy one, but by today's production standards should reliably performs much better than they do.

I'd be happy with those results shooting anything at 100M..

For scout rifle requirements are different than for regular rifles - 2 MOA or better. Scout rifle is a general purpose rifle, relatively light and short, it not intended to be super-accurate.

Makes no sense for Ruger to aim for 2MOA when their entry level offerings do better at less then half the cost.

I always saw videos and articles of CZ 550 rifles getting 1/2" 3 shot groups so I bought a CZ 550. For the longest time, I could get at best 1" - 1.5" with a 2-8x32mm Nikon scope. I used all premium ammo so I thought I just wasn't a good shooter. One day, I needed a box of .270 since I was going hunting the next day but had no ammo so I just grabbed a cheap box of Winchester SuperX .130gr. First group, 3/4", second group 1/2", third group 3/4". Now I only run the cheap Winchester stuff until I work up a handload for my .270. Just got the reloading kit but no dies yet. Thing that sucks is it takes longer to clean the gun with the cheap Winchester stuff. It sure is dirty even with just one shot.
