ruger gunsite scout

I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet, but I can't wait since it is my first lefty bolt gun.
The balance feels good, the bolt is getting smooth and the trigger in nice at about 4 lbs.
And it looks great in my eyes.

I have one. I don't think I will be selling it any time soon. Accurate, light, light recoil.

I have not found one thing I do not like about the gun.

I just held one at the gun show, have to say i love it, cant wait tell mine gets here now. The mags for those buggers arent cheap, i bought a spare 10 round mag and it was 70 bux!

I put a vortex sparx on it. Not bad. I do prefer scopes to redots. But it does not bad at 100 yards. I am still working up a consistent load. It likes both 130 HP and 150 HP. I need to get a 180 gr load for moose but have not started working on that load yet.

And before you ask here is a picture.

Well I technically own one, but I can't pick it up since I'm still waiting for a letter from the RCMP saying they won't arrest me for having it.

Can't wait, it looks so great.

Oh yeah those mags aren't cheap. I forgot I had some on backorder, so I bought some others when they finally came in stock without being instantly scooped up, and now I have 5. I'll have 6 once I pick up the gun itself. I got a bit paranoid about it having it's own type of mags as I kept hearing about proprietary parts that are discontinued.

I was debating purchasing one. It felt close to my Mini, in terms of feel.

I already owned a 308 Weatherby carbine (20" barrel and Williams fire sights) and liked the feel of the stock from the trigger rearward. The scout...not so much, particularly when scoping it, just did not care for the lack of the cheek riser and that obtrusive mag.

I bubba'd the weatherby stock to shorten it up and free float the barrel. It shoots tight groups and can hold 6 rounds. Could not convince my cheap a$$ to fork out 900 beans for a rifle which will may not shoot as well as my ugly ol' Weatherby.
