Ruger Hawkeye w/ Hogue stock

Hey, I guess that's one way to do it...:) Maybe I'll go that route. I mean I can always buy a wooden stocked one now (which I really like) and then just get a Hogue stock for it later if I find I absolutely have to have one of those. :rolleyes:

I have a Ruger M77 MarkII in 338 win mag a hogue stock.
The factory ruger hogue's are pillar bedded, but mine is a full aluminum chassis. IMHO< if your going to go with the hogue, spend the extra 125, and get the full length chassis stock. Its a bit heavier, but definately worth it.
My 338 is a pussycat in that stock

Darryl, thanks for that detail on the Hogue stocks. I knew there were two types, but I didn't realize the ones Ruger was using were the lesser ones. Very good to know.

That turned out nice Steve! Barry did a great job. I found a set of factory Ruger sights (stainless) that I will be getting Barry to install in the next week or two on my 350RM. I want to meet up with you at the range some time to check out the weight and feel of the Hogue stock.

Now you just need to find a moose to knock over with it this fall.;)

Tghe full aluminum stocks are a bit pricier, but IMHO, worth they're weight in gold. Very very stiff Chassis.

Yeah BC steve, it looks kinda like that, but with a good scope on it :D :D :D :D :D :D

I've got a burris signature 3-9 on it, but would like to put something lighter.

What media did you use to beadblast it?

I've been meaning to do that also, but I've just been too busy.
 
Thanks Stanway, Barry did a nice job with the blasting and adjusted the trigger to a nice crisp 3Lbs. I haven't shot it since but will have to soon to re-sight the scope. We'll have to meet and trade .35 for a couple shots, especially since I now live 10 minutes from the Mission range.

A good scope!?!:confused::eek: There's nothing wrong with a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40:sniper:

As for the blasting media I don't know. I just asked Barry at Bits of Pieces to beadblast it and that's how it came out.
