Now that Marlin has been bought by Ruger I wonder if there will be a Scout or the American in 450 Marlin? It would be a nice pairing to the action length and magazine vs the 450 BM.

The 450 Marlin is not a cartridge that is proprietary to Marlin. Browning makes a BLR that is chambered for it. In actual fact, Marlin itself has not made 1895 rifles chambered for the 450 Marlin for several years.

I have a BLR chambered for that cartridge and love it. In the BLR, because it does not have a tubular magazine, you can theoretically use pointy bullets, such as those designed for the 458 SOCOM. I think it might require removal of the magazine spacer.

I can't see Ruger going to the 450 Marlin in their bolt rifles due mainly to the straight wall cartridges for hunting regulations in a growing number of US states.
The 450 Marlin is a belted case cartridge which negates it's use according to the regulations. I could see a Ruger American or M77 in 444 Marlin being made though
as a Lipsey's or Davidson's dealer exclusive easy enough.
Those would be nice ones to work with fer sure. :)

The 450 BM ain't no slouch in a bolt rifle for us handloaders. Me new Ruger American Ranch 450 BM is in transit at present. ;)

Wishful thinking on my part. I always wanted a Siamese mauser in 45/70. I'd even take the 458x2 American in a modern bolt gun. Nothing against the 450BM, but if I am going to shoot a big bore I want a big bullet in weight as well 400+gr. Loved to shoot my 45/70 with the RD 460gr.

No worries on that. I had a Siamese Mauser 45-70 sporter build years back and played a bit with a few 458x2 rifles. One was on a 600 Rem action & one on,
of all things, a Winchester 94 build that an old friend whipped up. Funky units they were and they shot well enough, but the recoil on these buggers was
really wicked on the '94 compared to the 600 Rem & my Siamese unit.
