Ruger internal upgrades worth it?

What are people opinions? I have a plane jane ruger going into an Archangel kit and was thinking about doing all of the internals while I was at it.

I remember when I had my 597 vtr trigger, hammer and extractor was an absolutes must to make the gun worth shooting. Is it the same in the ruger or will I be happy with the factory parts for jamming issues and heavy triggers etc..

Try it "as is"....
If you're not happy there, start by polishing the T/G internals, an aftermarket extractor and a V.Q. hammer.

The VQ hammer kit is the best bang-for-buck. I installed a KIDD trigger, and will use a full VQ trigger in my next build.

I did the Volquartsen hammer and extractor and feel it is money well spent. Also did the auto bolt release but you can do that with a Dremel and save a few shekels.

Im looking at power custom hammer and extractor. Are the Power Custom parts any good? Ive been told they are the old owners of VQ

I have VQ upgrades in my 10/22, but have heard as well that Power Custom is excellent.

VQ bits are nice, if you need them - Try it stock first.

I would, however, do the bolt release one way or another... Drove me crazy the way it functions "stock".

A buffer is nice to avoid the audible "clank", too.

I have been thinking of a Kidd for my next build, did you have any issues with your trigger?

I like my sr-22 as it came. Cant imagine how it could be better but as with everything ymmv
