Ruger lists these as 7#'s in both the walnut blued and the stainless synthetic.....does anyone actually have one that they can weigh?
I can't decide if I should buy a Ruger or buy a Model Seven and rebarrel it....

keep in mind, the big bores usually have less steel in the tube

a 350RM could weigh less than a 243 if they both share the same barrel diameter.

I realize that...see my last post:D

I just wish Remington would get it right with the 350 Mag.....they missed the boat with the 673, stock's too chunky and the rib?..well what can you say about that?.:confused:and it should have been stainless......the M7 CDL is a bit better, but again, they missed the boat...blued again:mad: , 20" tube, too short.....no laminate stock..

What they should build is a stainless M7 350 with a plain 22" tube in the standard contour, not the magnum contour and the standard laminate stock, not the 673 stock......

Mark is correct! I have two identical 700 CDL's, one is chambered 270 Win, the other 35 Whelen. The 270 weighs 8.5 oz more than the 35 Whelen. The bigger hole removes more metal, simple as that. Regards, Eagleye.

you know....I should just pick up a new stainless M7 in a SAUM and build a 350 like I described...I have a brand new standard laminate M7 stock at home, I have a 35 cal stainless blank, have dies and brass enroute...all I need is a reamer...:D

If I do this what tube would sell better the 7SAUM or the 300SAUM?

anyone want to buy a tube before I buy the rifle...I can call Wholesale and see if they have one...I'd sell the Tupperware stock too...:D....the wheels are turning now:)

If this is useful, the Ruger web site at:

http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/FAProdSpecsView?model=17870

has it listed at 7 lbs. Maybe the weight is rounded?

Hi Rembo,

I have one I just bought from a fellow CGN-er! I'll try to figure out how to weigh it and get back to you. You could meet me to try shooting it if you like - I'm just busy today building some 225 Grain loads for it.

Best wishes, Jeff/1911.
