i'm in the market for a new rifle come next fall. and i really like the 7x57. problem is i'm a southpaw. if i'm going to spend money on a new rifle it might as well be left handed. did they ever offer this chambering in a left hand model? are there any other makes that have offered such a configuration? single sots are not an option, neither are semi's, pumps or levers

Ruger 77 in 7x57mm

Interesting thread.... I happen to be a leftie and I happen to own a right handed Ruger 77 tangsafety in 7x57mm. I don't know if they made the 77 in the tangsafety model or the MkII in 7x57mm in left hand version. The rifle I have will print 3 rounds into 3/4" @ 100 yards which tells me I'd probably only need one shot anyway... ;) :D

7 X 57

I like the 7 X 57 and I like Ruger No1's. My first choice for a 7 X 57 shooter if I was a lefty would be a No1. Or get a left hand action and build your rifle in 7 X 57. It's a bit expensive but you get what you want. Ruger makes a great gun but the 7 X 57 is not a high priority for them.
I would like to have M77 MkII or a No1 in 7-08. The factory 7 X 57 are loaded light, and don't perform to their potential. I was told the rounds are loaded light because the age of the firearms that use them. Some of the rifles are nearly 100 years old, and manufacturers don't want to be liable for damage to shooters of the guns.

Get a 280 Remington . . . the 7mm with more punch. Remington CDL has a left handed model, as does Ruger 77. I guess if your heart is set on 7 x 57 then the .30-06 is the answer and re-barrel. It all depends on how committed you are.
