I currently own two of the M77 All Weathers. One is the old style (canoe paddle) stock in .308win and a new style in 350 Rem Mag. I love them both and they shoot great. I hope to add a 358win by the summer (all weather of course).
You can't go wrong with them (IMO). They are built tough and take a beating.

Bought a leftie Ruger 77 allweather with the lam stock. Had it blasted to dull the finish and have shot it all fall. My first bolt and learning to use it but I really enjoy it. Feeds and shoots good. I like the way Ruger does things. My gunsmith has a hardon for No 1s. I took my 223 in to get a trigger adj and I think he is in love. Have 3 new Rugers now-1022 stainless. When I take them out to the range they get a lot of interest not to mention nothing but fun to shoot-not the least trouble at all. Very well behaved and all good shooters. No dust on any of them.

I bought a new one last summer and hunted with it last fall. Over all I am happy with the rifle.
Some detracters: as todbartell says the action although strong as hell, is a bit 'rough'. I've found though that mine is quite a bit smoother now after a hundred rounds, and cycling it quite a bit other wise. Same can be said for the bore. It was rough and accuracey suffered a bit when brand new. Its settled down nicely by now tho..
Another thing that I don't like all that much is they are noisy. The synthetic stock seems to amplify sound like a drum skin when you brush up against something. I put a slip on neoprene shell carrier on the rear stock and this has helped that quite a bit..

The Ruger 77 MKII All Weather and the M77 LSS are arguably the best buy in rifles today. Tough, reliable, and very accurate (the ones I've shot anyhow).
A little beadblast and a trigger job doesn't hurt them!
ya must say mine m77 mark II in 7mm mag it the best gun i have owned i have taken 13 moose with it from 80 yds, to 550 yds ( yes i do shoot practicing alot at shooting long ranges 400-650) and the gun is just perfect i have a leupold 3.5-10 in 50mm silver on it ,looks great on the stainless gun ...
