Hey all; I've been tinkering with my tang safety M77, and decided to fit my PT&G bottom metal. However, for the life of me(!), I cannot drive that pin into the hinge/pivot point. Those of you with experience, do I need to ever so slightly take the pin down, or do I need to open-up the holes ever so slightly?? Even if I was to hammer that pin in, the hinge would be way too tight. Thanks in advance.

I would look for a different pin. But you may just have a burr or deformation on the leading edge of something. You could chuck it in a drill and take a bit of sand paper to it as well.

Thanks, there was a bit of an angle on the leading edge of one of the inner holes. A small file and a few minutes cured that. I also replaced the pin. Nice quality parts and durable bluing. A definite improvement over the factory aluminum pieces.

Just an FYI: I spoke with a rep at PT&G. He said it's unlikely they'll do another run, but they have several still in inventory. Highly recommend if you have a tang safety M77.
