Ruger M77 tang safety button.

I am noticing that the tang safety button on my Ruger M77 rattles around when the button is not engaged (FIRE position) but not if the button is engaged (SAFE position) . Is this normal? I can actually shake the gun and see and hear the safety button rattling around (FIRE position only).

Not in my current one or any that I've had..

IIRC, the safety has a bar that engages both the button and the actual safety under the tang. There's a lot to rattle around, could be any of the safety pieces.

Some wiggle, a little shake, smooth for sure.

Maybe it's the safety link (part D39) I will check that tomorrow.
