Hi all!

I was thinking about getting a .22 pistol, but I'm a bit confused with all the models...(hunter, target, standard, and competition). I was wondering which one would be a good pistol to practice my handgun shooting, and which would give the best value for the buck? Also which one would you recomend out of mark 3 or buckmark?

....and most importantly....anyone know where to get them? Can't seem to get any of them these days...

Thanks so much in advance!

Buckmark over the Ruger , because of ease of cleaning. GSG 1911-22 is also a good option, and easier to find, from various site sponsors.

Ruger is made as a tank, can shoot and shoot without cleaning. Good as a range/rental gun.
Browning is made nicely, easy to take down, trigger is better.
Probably has an edge over the Ruger for personal use.

In a choice between quality vs quality you can't really loose. Either of them will probably be able to outshoot you for some time to come, so you definitely have room to grow with them.

The main consideration would be which fits you best. You don't have your general location listed so can't help much there. Best bet is visit your local dealers and clubs. You're sure to see one or the other and if you ask nice most peeps will be happy to let you try it on for size, maybe even pop off a few rounds.

Adjustable sights are almost mandatory on a 22, the ammo can be highly variable and fussy from brand to brand. Barrel length isn't important overall. A 4.5 Ruger will shoot near identically to the 5' or 6'.

Both are quality made so buying used isn't to big an issue as long as no one has Babboned it.

Best answer yet. I completely agree 100%. Both are great fund and You really cannot go wrong with either. Try to shoot them both and see which one "fits" you best.

FWIW, my personal preference it my Buck Mark with URX grips for the ergonomics. But I still enjoy shooting my old ruger MK II.
