hi all.
i'm wondering if a 9 shot ruger mark I mag will fit/work in a mark II pistol.
i just bought a mark II but don't have it yet.it came w/ 1 mag but i want more mags so the only 1 i found was a mark I mag,9 shot.
the mark II is 10 shot.the mag # is m9(mark I mag).
thanks in advance...

No, they're different. Fortunately, MKII magazines are common.

hi wendell.
according to someone on rimfire central:

"The magazine bodies between the M9 and M10 mags are identical. The difference is the removable base plate on the newer M10 mags. Physically both styles work in either generation model."

we'll see when i get my new toy...:D

Ruger Mags

Here's my suggestion: instead of spending about $30 on a spare mag, spend about $30 for an "Ultimate Cliploader" made in the US by Zaliznok Industries and available at many of the usual firearms stores. You load about 50 rounds into the hopper, give it a shake and you can load a mag in about 5 seconds, without getting a sore thumb. I've had one for a few years now and think it's great. Every Ruger shooter who has seen mine in action has bought one.

A Mk.I mag would work in my Mk.II, but it would not always latch properly on the catch and would slip out a bit, resulting in misfeeds. The Mk.II mag never came undone the same way.
