Hi,

I have a Ruger Mark III Target model. Bought it brand new, only a 100 rounds through it. Everything was working perfectly, until...
I replaced the grips with Hogue grips. Since then one of the mags will stick, will not drop free.
Did I overthighten the grip screw?
Removing the grips will not help either. Any ideas?
Thank you

Ruger mkIIIs have magazine disconnects that prevent freefall. What is curious is that you claim it used to freefall but doesn't now. Factory default is to not drop freely.

The good news is there is lots of info about doing away with the annoying magazine disconnect. You just need the mkIII disassembly guide and a 10$ bushing. There is a supernice guy in Toronto who makes them, but I forgot his name. He is on the forums if you google it.

I highly doubt it is your grips or screws.

Sounds like a worthwhile modification.
