Ruger Mini-14 Target Bipod

I want to add a bipod to my mini 14 target. I currently have versa-pods on my other rifles. Is there a way to add an attachment to the opening/eye in front of the stock? I have found info on the bipod attachments but it is unclear on what exactly you have to do. It just shows the device. I am looking for info on what exactly is involved and how it is done (pics/diagrams). I would also be open to put a Harris bipod on the rifle if it is a better solution.

The only adaptor for the Mini that I know of, is the HB14 from Harris.
